What is Dunaliella salina whole-algae powder?
Carovive® Dunaliella salina powder is a cultivated whole-algae biomass ingredient that is concentrated and then spray-dried or freeze-dried without added excipients. It retains the whole-algae matrix rather than isolating beta-carotene through extraction. The current portfolio covers 2–8% natural beta-carotene, including glass-greenhouse, outdoor-cultivated and high-9-cis grades. It is the usual starting format for tablets, hard capsules and dry blends, but it is not engineered for water dispersion or oil-phase delivery.

01Does whole-algae powder contain added excipients?
No. Carovive® whole-algae powder is spray-dried or freeze-dried biomass without added excipients. It retains the native algal matrix, including natural beta-carotene and other native carotenoids.
02Which powder grade should I start with?
Start with the dosage form and target potency, then choose greenhouse, outdoor or high-9-cis specifications. Tablets, hard capsules and dry blends are the usual applications.
03Is the powder food grade, and what total-arsenic limit applies?
Yes. HETCHYN's current production control commitment for total arsenic is ≤0.5 mg/kg. The applicable greenhouse-grown food-grade powder specifications use a formal total-arsenic release limit of ≤1.0 mg/kg, and the selected batch result is reported on its COA.
04Can whole-algae powder be used in beverages?
It is not engineered for water dispersion. If stable dispersion in a beverage or other aqueous system is required, beadlets are usually the better starting format.
05What is the current MOQ and which documents can I request?
