01Which format fits a softgel, hard capsule, beverage or gummy?

Oil is the usual starting point for softgels and oil-phase systems. Whole-algae powder is the usual starting point for tablets, hard capsules and dry blends. Microencapsulated powder is the usual starting point when beverages, gummies or powder systems need water dispersion.

02Is Carovive® natural, fermented or chemically synthesized?

Carovive® glass-greenhouse grades come from Dunaliella salina cultivated in raceway ponds, not bacterial fermentation or chemical synthesis. The whole-algae material naturally contains a carotenoid matrix led by beta-carotene and also includes native alpha-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and other carotenoids. The exact standardized marker and profile must be confirmed for the selected grade.

03What is the difference between whole-algae powder and microencapsulated powder?

Whole-algae powder is spray- or freeze-dried biomass without added excipients. Its carotenoids are oil-soluble, and the powder is not engineered for water dispersion. Microencapsulated powder starts from Dunaliella oil and adds an encapsulating carrier system for broader formulation use, especially water-based products; customizable systems can include maltodextrin, gum arabic, modified starch and antioxidants.

04Is Carovive® food grade, and how is total arsenic controlled?

Yes. The applicable greenhouse-grown food-grade powder specifications set a routine total-arsenic release limit of ≤1.0 mg/kg, and strong batches can reach ≤0.5 mg/kg. Conventional Dunaliella products on the market are generally around 7 mg/kg total arsenic, while some suppliers disclose only inorganic arsenic. Total arsenic and inorganic arsenic are different parameters, so compare the same parameter and test method.

05Why does HETCHYN use glass-greenhouse raceway cultivation?

The glass greenhouse gives HETCHYN control over water, culture inputs and environmental exposure before the complete biomass becomes an ingredient. That upstream control is necessary for consistently meeting HETCHYN's low heavy-metal and total-arsenic limits; HETCHYN's comparative evidence shows other salt-lake cultivation does not meet these limits.

06Does Carovive® meet European Clean Label expectations?

Yes. Carovive® supports European Clean Label positioning through a natural algal source, clearly defined processing and full composition disclosure by grade. Whole-algae powder contains no added excipients; oil and microencapsulated grades declare their carrier systems in the applicable documentation. Clean Label is a market formulation concept rather than a single EU certification, so the final product label must still be assessed for its destination market and complete formula.

07How do the two oil extraction routes differ?

RE grades use ethyl acetate extraction and the current total residual-solvent specification is ≤20 ppm. SE grades use supercritical CO₂ extraction and are described as having no residual extraction solvent. Potency ranges also differ by route, so confirm the selected code.

08What are the current starting MOQs?

The current default MOQ is 10 kg for Dunaliella salina powder, 10 kg for beta-carotene oil and 300 kg for microencapsulated powder. Stock, lead time and custom-grade feasibility are confirmed by sales.

09Which technical documents can a buyer request?

After the product code and market are identified, buyers can request the current Product Specification, a representative batch COA, SDS / MSDS and applicable certificates. Controlled approved copies are supplied by HETCHYN sales or quality teams rather than offered as uncontrolled public downloads.
